Introduction

Attention Getter:  Grades are a common way to judge students. But a grade or some number cannot measure a child's worth. This change is coming with time, earlier, only number measurement was done for school admission, but now many types of analysis and judgment are done to get admission in good institutes.

Reason to Listen: Exam results or grades only measure the talent of a specific subject or sector's talent but not a student's latent talent.

Credibility Statement: I have seen many students in my student life who only get good marks in theory. But they could do better during practical or real-life work. For example, many students in the web development course scored well in many theory terms in exam papers. But they don't know anything about web development. Someone got low marks in theory, but he is perfect in actual web development. Considering all aspects, exam results should not be used to label students.

Thesis Statement: Exam results shouldn’t be used to label students; need to discuss this issue with everyone and understand the matter.

Preview of Main Points:

  • First, I will describe why Exam results shouldn’t be used to label students.
  • Finally, I will explain and give examples of why Exam results shouldn’t be used to label students.

Body

The exam result cannot accurately verify the student's merit because, in some cases, the questions asked in the student's exam paper are not taught in the class. Sometimes, the instant answer is only possible due to remembering some terms. Everyone's memorization is different. Many get good marks for memorization skills. Again, students may get fewer marks by doing practical studies and excluding memorization. So it does not mean he is a bad student if he gets less.

Success in life depends on achievement. Grades or numbers do not achieve achievement. It actually checks what you can and can't do in a subject. An intelligent student may not gain good results due to various reasons. Maybe his answer did not match the required quality. Or maybe he knows all of the particular subjects but, due to memorization problems, could not describe the correct answer.

With all these points or arguments, I want to highlight that grades or marks can never measure intelligence. All people have some inherent talent. For example, if you ask a fish to fly in the sky or a bird to swim, they will undoubtedly produce poor results. So everyone should judge on his strong point. A judgment by a specific process is not reliable. If Messi and Neymar were to be evaluated only by exam, then we didn't know that they are so good as football players. So students should be verified by more than marks and grades. Everything should be analyzed and verified. Maybe a student is not good at studies, but he can research and discover some new art of the performance.

Conclusion

Review of main points:

  • Natural talent cannot be verified only through exams.
  • So, Exam Results Are Not the True Reflection of a Student’s Intelligence.

Restate Thesis: A student's merit cannot be verified through the exam. To verify, a student has to analyze everything. It is possible to check intelligently by considering everything in which direction he is competent or in which direction he is incompetent.

Closure: I have tried to show how Exam Results Are Not the True Reflection of a Student’s Intelligence. After knowing these things, I hope you understand why Exam results shouldn’t be used to label students.
